London, Oct. 29. The meeting of the Tenante’ Defence League created bat little interest in Dublin. Mr Parnell did not attend, and no special programme was drawn up. Six of the prisoners in custody on the charge of being concerned in the murder of Inspector Martin at Gweedore have pleaded guilty to manslaughter, while ten others plead guilty to a charge of misdemeanor. Father McFadyen pleads guilty to obstructing tbe police. Sentence of the court has been deferred, Mr Sexton, M.P., presided over a* meeting of the Tenants’ Convention at Thurles. It WAs decided to levy 3d per £ on tbe rateable value of holdings for the purpose of providing funds. The evictions on Mr Olphert’s estate in Ireland continue. Determined resistance is offered by the tenants, and four houses had to be set on fire to drive .the occupants out. It ; is officially announced that the Irish Land Purchase Bill will be introduced next year. Oct, 30. Coll, convicted of manslaughter during the disturbance at Gweedore, in which Inspector Martin lost bis life, has been sentenced to 10 years’ penal servitude. The others implicated were sentenced to terms ranging from seven years to six months, Father MeFadden was released on bail. ■ n
