AUCTIONEERS' REPORT, XIMARtJ. Messrs Grade, Maclean and Co. report: for the past fortnight ending Saturday, as follows : Horses—At the Timaru Horse Bazaar, on the 19th inst., and to-day, our entries were under the average, both in 'regard to numbers aid quality. There 1 are' very few good draughts offering at present, but any that are brought forward meet a good market. The same remark applies to light horses suitable either for harness or saddle. Sheep—At Washdyke yards the entry on the 17th inst., was small, and consequently but little business was done. This week, however, there was a fair entry and better demand, and most of the lines changed hands. We sold 28 fat wethers at 16s 6d, 101 fat wethers at 15s sd, and privately we disposed of 400 prime freezers, 129 fat ewes, 722 crossbred hoggets, and 83 eves-and lambs. Cattle—There has been a brisfc demand for' store' cattle at Washdyke, and all lots to’ 1 haUd, except where unreasonable reserves were placed on them, changed owners, and as we remarked in our last, , the classes most sought after are 3-year-old yearlings, and six-quarter-olds. The local demand for fat cattle is limited. Sales of prime quality have been made at equal to 22s 6d per 1001 b. Wa have sold 94 head of stores at—-for yearlings 15s to 265, 2-year-olds 408't0:55 s,"B-year-olds 65s to 80s, dry cows 655. Skins—At our regular sale on the 16th inst., we catalogued over 2000 skins, but we only got through twothirds of our lot, when the buyers, who were late in reaching us, bad to leave by train, consequently we were compelled to bold over the remainder for next sale. Best crossbreds sold up to 7s.
