OHRiBTOHUBC!H CORN EXCHANGE
The following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday, Oct. 18th, 1889 i A decidedly firmer tone has been manifested during the past week. Wheat is certainly better thought of, and values slightly enhanced, while oats, although not advancing, are firmly held for a probable rise, and we Should hot be surprised, in view of recent heavy shipments from southern ports, at the holders getting better prices shortly. Barley is mostly out of the market, no transaction worthy of any note having come before us. Potatoes are'only Quitted by holders at higher figures than were’ruling in the previous week, but the season is too far advanced to anticipate any substantial increase on present rates. All other produce is without alteration. Our quotations for the week are as follows: — Wheat—Prime tuscan, 3s 3d to 3s did; pearl, 3s to 3s Id; hunters, 2s lOd to 2s lid. Oats—Milling, 2s 6d; short feed, 2s 8d to 2s 4d. Barley—Malting, 8s 6d; feed, 2s. Grass Seed—Eyegrass, town machine dressed, 4s 6d; tamers’ lines, 3s to 3s 3d.
