AROWHENUA TOWN BOARD.

I TO THE EDITOR. I Sie,—Will you kindly allow me space in your valuable paper to make a jfew remarks on the doings of the Alrowhenua Town Board ? There was a petition sent to the board, signed by 26 ratepayers, askingthemto remove all illegal fences on roads and recreation grounds, but the board state they cannot see their way to do it. Now taeir venue is altered. When I had ,a|)out the .twelfth part of an acre fenced they sent out notice that if the fences were not removed they would remove them and charge for the time; and, more than that, the chairman skid to me that they (the board) were dbtermined to remove them, and I am informed that (he clerk was ordered by the board'to take a man with him and remove all the fences. What did he do P He went to three poor laboring men, made them pull down their fences, and went home—and he did no more. If the board cannot remove the fences which "have been illegally erected by the rich, then they were very unfair to the poor l , and the sooner they resign the better, before they squander all the money. It appears they see their way clear to spend the ratepayers’ money on a bridge for six people who petition them. This reminds me of a man who made bullets and got others to fire them when he was out of the way. If they spend a lot of money for the petition of six, and do not attend to that of 26, who only ask on their rights and the public’s, they do not do their duty, and they have deceived those who voted them to their seats on the board.—l am, etc., Faibplxt.
