A Haed ■ Cash. Some time ago, in a certain city of New Zealand, a gentleman and his bods carried on a thriving business. Its success was to a great extent dependent upon the efforts of the sons. Their father, however, married again. He made a will in fayor of his wife and some time afterwards died. Before time was given her to deal with the properly she died intestate, .but the law made a will for her, as it does in such cases. The result of it was that the whole of the property promptly went to the next of kin, who in this case was her brother. The sons who had helped to get the property together thus got nothing, and a man who never worked for a pennyworth of it got all. Surely, as a great literary authority says, , “ the law is a laaas,” Indeed in many oases ] it is something much worse than the harmless quadruped., :
