The following is the Corn Bxf change report for the week ending I Friday, Sept. 27th, 1889 1 In actual local sales business has ■ been yery quiet, but in shipping work has been exceedingly active, chiefly on account of the usual opposition steamers being in, both for Sydney, and the hurry in shipping oats to Victoria before the extra duty is put on, which is expected to be much "earlier than at first thought. Enquiries are continually being made for London space, but it is not always i obtainable. Prices are now ruling at 80s, with the usual primages. Wheat is only purchased for actual orders, there being no speculation whatever. Oats—Buyers are more inclined to do business. Barley has no demand, except for extra choice lines of malting. Potatoes have been eagerly sought after for Sydney during the past week; and prices have hardened. There, is, however, a considerable quantity still, offering at , prices' beyond buyers' limit* Grass seed and I cocksfootiare both very quiet. Our I quotations for the week are as I follows: ft Wheat —Tuscan, 8s 5d to 3s 6d.j ft peari, 3s Id to 8s 2d; hunters, 3s to m 3b Id; broken chick, 2s 6d to 2s Bd. ■ Osts— Prime milling, 2s 6d to 2s 7d; I short stout feed, 2s 5d to 2s*6d; ■ ordinary, 2s Id to 2s 4d. V Barley— Prime malting, 3s 5d to A 3s 64 ; medium, 3s to 3s 2d; feed, 2s I to 2s 6d. I Beans, 3s 2d to 3s 3d; blue pea ■ (true), 3s 9d to 3s 10d., A Grass Seed —Machine-dressed, 4s 4s 6d; farmers’ parcels, 3s to 3s 6d. /Ofecksfopt—Prime, 3d to 31d; unttStgsed, light samples, 2idto 2j?d.
