THE LONDON STRIKE.
FURTHER STRIKES PROJECTED. , London, Sept, 23. The postmen are demanding an increase of wages to 6d an hour per day of 8 hours, ahd the bakers are agitating for a limit of the 1 working'day to ten hours. Burns is 'organising, the men for a strike. Sept. 24. The bakers threaten .to strike on November 9tb for shorter hours and higher wages. Borns, who led the dockmen, is their champion, and is rendering them assistance. The postmen , are forming a uhion for the same purpose, Mr Gladstone, speaking,at Hawarden, said that the issue of, the recent strike is pregnant .with hope for the future of labor, Melbourne, Bept. 24. The fund in aid of the London strike has reached £20,000. The committee haye cabled to. London, that the money must be expended in affording.relief and not applied to recouping advances by trade unions.' ■ •
