AT a Special Meeting of the Council of the County of Geraldine held at the Council’a Office on Saturday, the twenty-first dny of September, 1889, the following SPECIAL ORDER was passed That this Council, io pursuance of the powers vested in it by “The Loaal Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886," do now Make and Leyy a Special Annual Recurring Rate of ONE PENNY IN THE POUND (£) for each year, commencing from the first day of January and ending on the thirty-first day of December, on the Rateable Value of all Property within the limits of that portion of the County of Geraldine called or known as the GERALDINE FLAT WATERSUPPLY DISTRICT to provide the Interest and Sinking Fund upon an authorised Loan of £9OO, raised by the Council under the provisions of “ The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of constructing Special Public Works, consisting of Water Races, within such portion of the District exclusively; such rate to come into force on the first day of January, 1890, and to be Payable Annually in One Sum on the FIRST DAY of MAY in each year, for a period of Twenty-Six Years, until the said Loan be paid off. The First Payment to be made on the first day of May, 1890. This Special Order is to take effect on the fifteenth day of November, 1889, and will be confirmed at a meeting of the .Geraldine County Council to be held on Saturday, the 19th day of October, 1889.
