London; Sept. 13. A sculling race between Matheson and Bubear has been arranged to take place over the championship course on October Uth.
Fearle dbb expressed his willingness to meet Gaudanr on the Thames witbin a month for £IOOO a side, or he will row Gaudaur when be chooses on the Parramatta river, New South Wales, for any sum from £IOOO to £SOOO a side. Searle has positively declined to row in America.
The Editor of the Sportsman bos handed oyer the stakes to Searle. Searle says he will rcw O'Connors second match on the Thames within a month for £SOO or £IOOO, or he will meet him nest season on the Parramatta for £1500; Gaudaur offers to row Searle on any lake in England for £IOOO a side. Searle, while willing to accept the challenge, considers a lake unsuitable, and agrees to meet Gaudaur on the ohampion conrse from Putney to Mortlake, or on the Tyne or Benley rivers, Searle makes it a condition that the race shall take place before October 21st,
