IN conformity with the Road Boards Act, 1883, its Amendments, and the Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876, I, WILLIAM WILLS, Returning Officer, hereby give notice that an ELECTION will be held on MONDAY, the 30th day of September, 1889, inat., for the Election of ONE MEMBER on the above-named Board, in the room of Andrew Grant, Esq., decennod.

SPECIAL .ORDER. , VTOTIOE'IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Council of the County of Geraldine, held on 23rd August. 1889, a Eesolution to make a SPECIAL OHDER was adapted, and the objects of suoh Special Order are : (1). To levy an annually recurring Kate of 7-lGths of a Penny in the £ on all the rateable property within the "Woodbury Water-Supply District," to provida Interest and Sinking Fund on a Loan of £550 raised for constructing water races within the said district. (2). To Fix Annual Dates of Payment of ■such Rate: for the year ending 31st December, 1889, to be made ou the 15th October, 1889, and in subsequent yeirs on the Ist of May in every year for a. period of 25 years, until the Loan is paid off. And it is further notified that the said Special Order will come into force on the Ist October, 1889, and that a Meeting of the said Council will be held at f imaru on the 21st day of September Dext, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of Confirming auch Resolution. The Rate Book and a Copy of the said Special Order is, and will , remain, deposited far Inspection at the Council's Office, Timaru, during office houra, until the date of the said Meeting. WOODBURY WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT. SPECIAL ORDER. JJN Special Meeting of the Council of the Csunty of Geraldino, beld on the 23rd August, 1889, a RESOLUTION TO MAKE A SPECIAL ORDER WAS ADOPTED, and the objects of such Special Order are : (1) To fix the Annual Rate or Charge under Clause 4 of the Waterworks By-laws of the County and "The Counties Act, 1886," to be Paid by Occupiers of Land within "The Woodbury Water-Supply District" for the use of the Water Races and Water supplied thereby at 3d per annum for each Acre of L'lnd or portion thereof held by such Occupiers in such District. (2) To appoint tho Annual Dates of Payment of such Rate or Charge for the year ending 31st December, 1889, to be made on the 15th day of October, ISB9, and in subsequent years on the let May in every year. (3) To make such Rate or Charge Payable at the Council's Office, Timaru. (4) To regulate the Expenditure of such Rate or Charge. And it is further notified that the said SPECIAL ORDER WILL COME INTO FORO3 on the Ist OCTOBER, 1889, and that a Meeting of the said Council will be held at Timaru on the 21st day of September next, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of Confirming such Resolution.
