ASHBURTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.
Mr E. G. Stftveley, for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports on the Ashburton live stock market on Tuesday as follows
About 3500 sheep and moderate entries of cattle and pigs. Attendance good, but market dull and dragging throughout, the scarcity of feed, owing to the exceptional dryness of the season, being generally complained of. We sold fat merino wethers for Mr W. Morgan 9s, and mixed halfbreds 11s; fat crossbred wethers made 13s 6d and 15s ; merino ewes, in lamb, 4a 6d to 6s 3d; good crossbred hoggets, lls 6d; mixed forward halfbrada, 12s ; halfbred ewes, with 100 per cent lambs, 13s; mixed ages crossbred ewes, m lamb, 10s lOd.
