AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. TIMARtJ. Messrs Grade, Maclean and Co. report for the past fortnight, ending Saturday, as follows: — Horses—At the Horse Bazaar, our entries of draughts have been exceed* ingly small, owing to the fact that farmers are making every possible effort to push their work forward, taking advantage of the fine weather to do so. We quote medium to good, draughts at from £ls to £24 ; inferior, £6 to £10; hacks nominal. Prices realised for fat sheep were fairly good, but sales were difficult to effect. At Washdyke on the 7th mst., and again this week, the numbers yarded of both fat and stores were small, but sellers’ values did not admit of much business being effected. We sold 69 ewes (fat) at 9s, 23 do do Bs, 100 half-bred ewes in lamb at 8s 6d, 231 hoggets at 10a, and privately 300 fat ewes and wethers, i Cattle—Of the various sales held during the fortnight, Pleasant Point was the largest entry of stores, and a considerable number of one and two-year-old and calving cows changed hands. At Winchester and Makikihi, gales were principally confined to yearlings. At Washdyke there were a few pens of fat bullocks and cows, which were sold at 18s per 1001 b.
