A boy named Benjamin Edwards, 10 years of age, fell over the railway bridge at Fraakton, Auckland, on Tuesday and broke his neck. The Auckland Gas Company 1 have declared a dividend of 8s 6d on fully paid up shares and 4s 3d on 13,743 shares.
A man ' named Bowman, Morrison, alias Moore, alias Lewfefilyn, has been committed' for' triajl at Blenheim' for. an attempt 'to obtain morieyjby false pretences. At the E.M. Court, Wanganui, on Monday, Thomas Reid, one of, the wealthiest men in Wanganui, was charged with making false property tax returns, 'having omitted £10,250 worth altogether. After taking the evidence of Mr Crombie, Deputy Commissioner, Mr Brabant, R.M., inflictWd a fine of £SO. The conviction involves the payment of treble tax on £10,250.' ________
