LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.' On Tuesday, The Local Bills Committe brought up a report on the Counties Act Amendment Bill, and recommended that it be proceeded with. Mr Reynolds asked whether, considering the failure of justice in the cases of Crow and McLeed, Invercar- ! gill, William Christie, Oamaru, and i other cases Under the Bankruptcy Act, 1883, Government will this session take steps to amend section 171, by providing a form of warrant,which shall be declared sufficient, and whether the said Act will be otherwise amended so as to render technical objections unavailing.—The AttorneyGeneral replied that a Bill had been prepared which would be introduced this session, when no doubt the matter would be considered. The Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment Bill was passed.
HOUJE OF KEPBE3ENTATITEg. The House met at 10.30 a.m., and continued sitting with closed doors, with the exception of the usual adjournments, until 10.30 p.m., when an adjournment was made until following day. Mr Allen, Mr Taylor, Mr Blake, and Mr Reeres were the speakers.
