SOCIAL GATHERING.

A social gathering of the members of the Temuka Literary Society and their friends waa heid list evening- in the Oddfellows' Hull, Temuka. The room was crowded, «ni a must enjoyable evening wns spent in chatting, playing chess, draughts, bagatelle, and other games. Songs were contributed by Miss Lee, Mr Storey, and Mr Smith, and a recitßiion by Mr Sim. A most bountiful supply of refreshments was supplied by the ladies belonging to the society. The refreshments were of excellent quality, and thoroughly enjoyed by all present. The evening wis one of the most enjoyable we have spent in Temuka.
