INSTALLATION SOCIAL GATHERING.
The installation of officers of the Victoria Lodge No. 19., 1.0.G.T., Geraldine, took place on Thursday evening last, the D.D.G.M., Bro. G. H. Patrick, acting as installing officer. The following officers were installedN.G., Bro. J. W. Pye; Y.G., Bro. T. Bowkett; Secretary, Bro. A. Eisher; Treasurer, Bro. J. Williams. Bro. W. Stonehouae acted as D.G.M., assisted by P.G.’s Bros. J. Pye, J. P. Kalaugher, and E. Hardy. After the installation Bro. J. W. Pye, on taking the chair, thanked the members for the honor they had done him in electing him to the position of N.G. He then appointed the following officers: Warden, Bro. W. Stonehouse; Conductor, Bro. W. M. Patrick; ES. to JN.G., Bro. J, J. Hiskens; L.S. to N.G,, Bro. H. Nicola; 1.G., Bro. Hardy; E.S to Y.G., Bro. A. O’Neil; L.S. to Y.G., Bro. C. Eamble; E.S.S., Bro, J. Pye; L“.S.S„ Bro. W. Py®; Auditors, Bros. J. Cunningham, E. Hammond, and J. J. Hiskens; Sick Committee, Bros. T. Bowkett, C. Eamble, and W. Patrick; Standing Committee, the N.G., and Bros E. Hammond, T. Bowkett, J, Pye, and J. Williams. A vote of thanks was passed to Bro G. H, Patrick, Deputy Grand Master, for the able manner in which he had installed the officers, also to the past officers. The lodge was then closed and an installation social gathering was held, which was successful beyond all expectation, A very large number of persons were present, between 60 and 70 couples attending, the accommodation of the hall being taxed to its utmost. A splendid refreshment table was laid in the ante-rooms of the Masonic Hall adjoining. The night being cold was splendidly suited to dancing, which was indulged in with great spirit till early in the morning. The music was supplied by Mr Goodwillie, of Temuka, who gave every satisfaction. Mr W. M. Patrick acted as M.C. During the evening some splendid songs were rendered by Mrs W. Patrick and Miss Marshal], and Messrs Simms, B. Macdonald, and H. Nichols. _ Miss Andrews accompanied the singers. Mr Simms deserves special mention for the excellent manner in which he rendered a number of songs.
