Geraldine FruitgroWebs’ Association.—A meeting of the committee of this association was held in the Literary Institute, Geraldine, on Tuesday evening last. Mr B. R. Macdonald (president) occupied the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter whs read from the secretary of the Canterbury Fruitgrowers’ Association, enclosing copies of a petition to the fiouse of Representatives, and requesting signatures to the same. It was decided that all the members present should sign the petition, one copy to ba left at Mr Pearpoint’s store and another in the hands of the secretary. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr Gordon, secretary of the Christchurch Association, for more copies of the petition. The chairman and Mr G, H. Patrick were appointed u deputation to wait on the Gera'dine Town and Road Boards to consult as to whether they, would be willing to assist the association with regard to the abatement of the small birds’ nuisance, A cheque was drawn for the payment of incidentals, and the meeting adjourned.
