Replying to Mr Fiah«r,, the .Premier said that he had no objection to lay on the table the correspondence on the subject of'thi retirement of the Minister of Education from the Cabinet. Replying lo Mr Q'Oondr, the Premier said that he would consult tbe Railway Commissioners as to (he desirableness of planting the railway reserves with flax. A number ef; Bills were introduced and read a first time. The Premisr intimated that if the debate on the Address in Reply were finished to-night he would bring down tbe Financial Statmenfc on Tuasday night, n »d the Public Works Statement hs soon after as possible ; but he could not say definitely when. \ Mr Harknesß moved, and Mr La wry seconded the Address in, Reply. Both condemned tbe Property Tax Act, and the latter also condemned the constitution of the Railway Board. ,' Mr Walker said tba policy was the policy, of tbe late Government; Messrs Taylor, Verrall, Hstchison, and Tai«rhaug& made a few remarks, and the address was put and carried without a division.
