AUCTIONED' REPORT. OERALDINB. Messrs J. Muudell and Co, report sales for the week ending Saturday, 22nd June, 1889, a 3 follows : At the G-eraldine yards on Wednesday the entry of stock both for quality and quantity was up to the standard of previous sales at these yards. At the opening of the sale it was evident that vendors were expecting fancy prices. This was especially noticeable in fat sheep, which in some instances agents were compelled to withdraw. The result of the day's transactions must be considered favourable to sellers as the following prices will, show. Sheep Crossbred wethers and ewes 14s 6d, 13s 6d to lis; hoggets 9s Id, 7s 9d, 7s, to 5s 7d; crossbred ewes in lamb 7s; cull crossbreds 3s 7d to 3s Id. Cattle—Pat steers light weights, £4 10s; 2-year-old steers and heifers £1 ]4s; yearlings £1 7s; calves 12s. Pigs—Strong stores 13s, 12s 6d, lis 6d to 8s 6d; weaners 4s 9d to 5s 3d. TIMARU PRODUCE MARKETS. Messrs W. Collins and Co., Timaru, report that there is very little demand for wheat or oats. Grain can be sold in considerable quantities at the following figures, at sidings, Timaru : Tuscan wheat, sellers 3s 6d, buyers 3s 3d per bushel; red chaff do, sellers 3s 2d, buyers 3s do; velvet and pearl do, sellers 3s 4d, buyers 3s Id do; whole fowl do, sellers 2s 9d, buyers 2s 6d do; broken do, sellers 2s Gd, buyers 2s do; milling oats, sellers 2s 9d, buyers 2s 6d do; Danish oats, sellers 2s 6d, buyers 2s 3d; Tartarian do, sellers 2s 9d, buyers 2s 6d; duns do, sellers 2a 9d, buyers 2s G'd; Derwent potatoes, sellers 60s, buyers 45s per ton. (In all cases sacks extra; top prices are quoted in every instance). At the auction to-day, bacon pigs sold at from 3id, to 4d per lb; chickens, Is 6d per pair; young table roosters, 2s 6d to 3s 6d per couple ; hares, 2s to 3s per brace ; cod fish (a new line), alt alive, 2s 6d per basket; pig wheat and fowl wheat and fowl wheat 5s to 9s per sack; potatoes, 5s 6d per bag ; carrots, 35s per ton ; mangolds, 22s 6d per ton (bags extra.) ! TIMAKU. Messrs G-racie, Ivlaclean and Co. report for the past fortnight, ending {■Saturday, as follows: ■ Horses—Since we last reported there has.been very little animation in this line.. Our entry to-day comprised Some,excellent draughts, only a few of which changed hands. We quote medium to good of these at from £ls to £25, inferior £6 10s to £l2, hack and light harness horses (medium) up to &i% Sheep—At Wash,dyke yards on the 13 th inst., there wan a moderate entry of fat and stores. Both classes were well represented again this week, and on both days most of the lots changed owners at fully egual to late rates. We sold 399 crossbred lambs at 7s 6d, 127 balf-bred ewes at 9a, 34 do at 9s } 74 ewes at 8s 6d, 100 fat 2tooths at 12s 7d. 139 do do at 12s Id, 40 fat ewea at 9s £d, 208 crossbred ewes in lamb at Ba. Rattle—On the 13th inst., the entey . was a small one. This week, however, there was a larger entry of stores than we have had for some months past. The demand for full-grown .steers was limited, but one to one and a half year olds sold at full values. We sold for various owners-—4 heifers at £4 10s, 1 heifer at £4 15s, G cows at £3 15s to £4 ss, 6 yearlings at 80s, 9 yearlings at 2T>s, 14 heifers at 345, 4 do at 325, 5 calving cows £4 10s to £5 17s Gd, 6 dry .cows at 30fl to 42s 6d.

Pigs—The denund for farm fed bacon pigs still continues • brisk. At Winchester, we sold 2 at 40s, 2 at 20s, 1 at 42s 6d. At Washdyke, 6 baconers at 37s 6d, 3 slips at lis, 7 porkers - at 21s. Skins—At our fortnightly sale on the 12th inst,, prices were considerably in advance of the former sale. We catalogued over 600, and sold at—for best crossbreds 4s, 4s 6d, 4s lOd, to ss, medium 2s 6d to 3s Bd, merinos 3s 6d, 3s 9d, 4s, and 4s 3d. AUS TEAMAN MABKETS. Sydney. June 21. The following is a return of the quantity of breadstuffs delivered in Sydney this week :—225 tons of flour from Victoria, 376 tons of flour and 260 tons of wheat from South Australia, and 66 tons of wheat from New Zealand. ENGLISH MAEKETS. London, June 20. Wool is very firm, and prices are well kept up. New Zealand mutton has advanced to6|d; lamb, 7£dto-7£d. Tallow is firm, best mutton 28s to 28s 6d, best beef 27s to 27s 6d. Tin, £B9 10s. Galvanised iron, Q-ospel Oak brand, £l7. June 22. New Zealand hemp is being sold at prices ranging from £33 5s to £34. G-erman beet sugar has .advanced to 265. Three hundred baleß of rabbit skins have been disposed of, and prices have been fully maintained. At the wool auctions the advance previously quoted has been maintained. There is still an upward tendency. Foreigners were large buyers, and they took fully one-third of the bales offered. New Zealand 4 per cent inscribed stock 105, The tone of the market is weaker. Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 38s 6d. The market is quiet. New Zealand long berried* ex store, 38s. Business quiet. Sugar, Java, is quoted at 25s 3d. No fresh arrivals of frozen mutton are expected before July. The present stock is only about 15,000 carcases.
