RAUKAPUKA LICENSING COMMITTEE.

TO THE EDITOE. Sie, —In your issue o£ the 18th inst. I notice that your reporter states " Mr TV. E. Barker asked if the applicant had a list of the persons who had used the house of late for accommodation." This is hardly correct; I asked Mr Wilson Smith the above. The question I asked Mrs Tindall was, " How many do you think stop the night on an average per week at your hotel? " She replied, "I should think about two or three." I consider that this explanation is only due to Mrs Tindall, as for her to have said that two or three stayed at her hotel every night would of course be a palpable untruth, and could, only be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to mislead the committee.—l am, etc., W. E, Baeker.
