The pumping machinery at the Calliope dock at Auckland has been seriously damaged. The foreman of works estimates the amount at £IOOO, and Mr Errington estimates it at £BOOO. It is supposed the damage was caused by a sudden shock. The decisions of the Board of Property Tax Reviewers have added £130,000 to the assessor’s valuations of Patangata County. Altogether the increase over the original valuations in Hawke’s Bay Provincial District is over half a million. The directors of the Gear Meat Company (Wellington) have declared an interim dividend of 10 per cent, per annum. Captain Malcolm and Young, who went to Milford exploring, and about whom grave fears were being entertained, returned to Dunedin on Tuesday.
