TAB Bbanding Sheep.— At a largely attended meeting of the Hawkes Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society resolutions ware unanimously pppsed protesting against ths resent erder cosp«Jlip| the tar branding of sher-Pi and requesting its at least as far as Hawkes Bay is concerned. It was argued that long-wools would need handling every two months, which would put sheep farmers to gre/*t expense, while the result would be a eerio.us deterioration in the value ot wool. One firmer, who had branded some and sent the wool Home, said that it brought ald per lb less than the unbranded wool of the same type.
