AUSTRALIAN MARKETS.
I Sydney, May 81. Deliveries for the week included 696 tons of wheat from New Zealand, and 228 tons of flour from Victoria and South Australia, New Zealand wheat is quoted, nominally, at 4s 4d to 4s 7d. Meibodene, June 1. Heavy business is being done in oats, the price being up to 4s 3d ex wharf. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, May 30. Frozen mutton is steady at last quotations, but at present it is hardly saleable. May 31. The tone of the tallow market is firm. Best mutton has risen, and is now quoted at 29s to 29s 6d j best beef, 27s to 27s 6d. German beet sugar is improving, and is offered at 23s Bd. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock is active at 106. Australian wheat, ex warehouse, is quoted at 38s 6d. The market is quiet. New Zealand long-berried, ex store, is at 38s. The market is quiet.
Wellington hemp is quoted at £33 10s; Auckland, from £32 to £34 10s. Complaints are being made as to the quality of the fibre. Four thousand bales of sheepskins have been sold at an advance of Jd* The American demand for wool ia increasing.
