IRISH AFFAIRS.

London, May 27. Fierce resistance was offered to evictions by tenants on the Olphert estate, and many casualties occurred. Some severe wounds were inflicted during the hand to hand encounter between the police and peasantry, and in some cases the injuries are serious. The Morning Post ridicules the speeches delivered at Adelaide by Mr John Dillon, one of the Home Rule delegates now making a tour of the Australian colonies. A number of Irish ladies, sympathisers with the Home Rule cause, have sent a telegram to Her Majesty the Queen, protesting against the Marquis of Donegal evicting tenants on the Queen’s Birthday. It is reported that the Viceroyally of Ireland has been offered to the Farl of Zetland.
