AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbouenb, May 14. Wheat is quiet at 5s 7d. Sydney, May 14. Wheat is in fair request at from 4s 6d to 4s 9d. ENGLISH MARKETS, London, May 12. Fine Black Horse salt, 42s Qd per ton; coarse do, 83s 3d. Candles, Deroubaix, Jenar and Co.’s leading brands, per lb. Tallow is rising, medium mutton being now quoted at 265. The English wheat market is depressed ; the Continenal is unchanged; the American has an upward tendency. Australian flour—Stone-made averages 275; New Zealand ditto, 255. Wheat—Forward business _is active. The arrivals _of foreign wheat is large. Australian, off-coast, 83s sd. May 13. New Zealand hemp is quoted at £36 5s to £36 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from London, dated May, 10th, 1889: Tallow —The market is better. Q-ood mutton and beef tallows are worth 25s 6d and 24s 6d respectively. Rabbit Skins— Medium descriptions have declined Id, and inferior l|d per lb, since last report. New Zealand Hemp —Medium is worth £34 10a per ton. Bombay, May 11. The steamer Bothwell Castle is loading wheat here for Sydney and Hobart.
