IRISH AFFAIRS.
London, May 7 . Archbishop Walsh, in a letter to the Times, says there are 150 estates in Ireland where serious trouble exists with the tenants, and advises resort to arbitration. Six thousand troops now quartered in Ireland will shortly return to England, Lord Derby, in a speech, advocated the abolition of the office of Viceroy of Ireland, May 9. Mr Balfour, Secretory for Ireland, addressing the Nonconformist Union Association contended that the supremacy of the law was an indispensable condition of the civilised society. He would maintain his present policy towards Ireland, even if he were absolutely aware that Horae Rule would be granted within five years.
