Narrow Escape.— A young sou of Mr J. Wharton, Orari Bridge, met with a painful accident and had a narrow escape from death on Thursday afternoon. Ho was riding home from school on a dray, and when opposite his father’ll gate jumped off the dray. He appears to have fallen on his elbow, which was very much bruised, while his head fell so close to the wheel that the side of the face was very much scraped by the tire and the top part of his ear dragged out by the roots,, leaving a considerable-sized hole in the side of the head. The little sufferer was attended by Hr Fish, who found that although the boy was very much bruised and shaken about no bones were broken, and he isnosv doing as well ns eould bo expected.
