FATAL COACH ACCIDENT.

Hokitika, April 25

A disastrous coach accident occurred between this place and Kumara about midday, when Cameron’s mail coach was nearing Kumara, Going down Sandy’s hill the break would not work, and the coach gained great impetus. The horses galloped down, and near the bottom the coach capsized against a fence. The king-bolt jumped out, and the horses galloped into Kumara with the fore wheels. Sixteen passengers were all more or less injured. A young man named Vm. White, of Greymouth, a compositor, had his legs broken in three places, and his arm broken, and also sustained internal injuries. He died this afternoon in great pain. Constable Bennett is injured in the legs and body, and is believed to have two ribs broken. Galbraith, the jockey, had the small bone of his wrist broken. Miss Beyon had some ribs broken. Taylor, the driver, had his chest strained, and is . injured internally. All the others were more or less hurt, though not seriously. The coach was smashed to pieces. Tulley, a runner of the West Coast Times, was on top of the coach with two little girls. He threw them m the bushes as the coach was going down, and they escaped uninjured, He had not time to save himself, and was much injured;
