Invercajrgiil. April 18. Id Iho cross actions, Bank of New Zealand v. Wilson, Trtine and Co., claim £965, and Wilson, Taino «nd Co. v. Bank, damages £2OOO, Ihe jury after being locked up all night to decide the following issues, viz., " Was there any agreement made a 6 alleged by tho defendants in tlie couuter claim, and if an, to what damages are the defendants entitled 1" failed to agree, and were discharged. Sir B. Stout proposed to go on with the next case, in which the Bank claim £1540, and the defendants £3OOO damages, but the Judge said it was impossible to hear the case this sittings as the Easter holidays intervened and he had to be in Dunedin on Wednesday. Sir B. Stout said that he was willing that the Judge's notes should be laid before the second jurj, and witnesses called on the fresh points, but Mr Chapman for tho Bank would not consent. Sir R. Stout then said he was agreeabh to take the case before a Dunedin jury. The Judge thought that the best plan. A temporary adjournment of the judge and counsel to Chambers for conference here took place. On resuming, the Judge said he hnd suggested the removal of the case, and a motion to that effect was before him, and would be heard in Dunedin. The two nctioDs would probably be so consolidated so that both could be tried together at as early a date as could be fixed. If it could be finally settled the venue would be changed to Dunedin. This closed the session and the Judge loft for the North by Iho express. ,
