The committee wish to tender their thanks to the j gentlemen who so kindly acted as judges | in the various classes, and lo the ground committee and class stewards; also to Messrs Gracie, Maclean and Adam, who kindly sold the privileges free of charge, and to our auditor, Mr J. Granger. We would again ask members not to forget the need of active canvass for new members to ensure success and stability to the Association.” . . . . The balance-showed a total of receipts £784- lls 2d, of which £65 18s wap a balance from the previous ysar._ The chief items of receipts were—subscriptions £136 ; entries, £19316s 6d ; gates, booths, and catalogues, £265 8s Bd. The expenditure was £689 2s Id, leaving a balance of £95 5s Id. The chief disbursements were for prizes £4OO, rent £SO, advertising and printing, £57 17a 9d ; secretary, A list of members printed with the report showed that there are now 25 life members, and 182 annual members. The report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. On the motion of Mr McLaren, seconded by Mr Orbell, Mr A. M. Clark and Mr E, Rhodes were elected President and Vice-President respectively. On taking the chair Mr Clark thanked them for the honor they had done him in eliding him President of the society. They wore situated in one of the moat favored portions of New Ztaland, the soil and climate of which could not be surpassed, and on it wore settled men who were thoroughly practical farmers and agriculturists, Ha was of opinion that any mao elected to the position he hod been that day should feel proud indeed ; in fact, he felt preuder now than if he had been eluded a member of the Parliament of New Zealand. Mr Rhodes in a short speech also returned thanks. Mr W. Balfour was then unanimously reelected treasurer, and the following gentlemen as a committee of management: Messrs W. Balfour, W. Cartwright, B. Davie, H. Ford, J. Goldie, A. Grant, W. Hay, R. Irvine, M. Quinn, S. Kellaod, J. Mitchell, D. McLaren, R. Mockay, A. Macpherson, C. N. Orbell, A. 0. Pringle, J. S. Rutherford, J. King, W. Stevenson, G. Talbot, C. G. Tripp, A. Clellaad, W. Pringle, and T. Langdon. Mr P. W, Stubbs was unanimously reelected secretary, and after transacting some routine business, the meeting terminated.
