A meeting was hold in the Town Hall this evening in the interests of a Chinese Famine Fund, A large number of Socialists and Freethinkere, and members of other Societies, were present, and created a great disturbance. They moved an amendment, affirming that until the distress at Home had been relieved the colony hod no, right to busy itself about distress in China. The amendment was ultimately rejected, and a large sum subscribed in the room towards the object in view. Thursday Island, April 10,
