AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, April 9. A large business is being done in New Zealand wheat. Prime tuscan commands ss. The high rate asked for Victorian and Adelaide wheat is checking the business in these lines. Mblbotjene. April 9. "Wheat is at 5s 9d, with a rising tendency. Adelaide, April 9. j Wheat is quoted at ss. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, April 7. Seven thousand six hundred and seventy five casks of tallow were sold by auction to-day. Medium mutton realised 255, medium beef 23s 6d. For Australian wheat, new crop, sellers ask 37s 6d, and for New Zealand wheat on passage the average, quotation is 35s 9d. Forward business is weak, at a decline. Arrivals of foreign wheat are small, but several cargoes are at ports of call awaiting sale. Colonial beans average 35s per 5041 b. The wool sales give indication of increasing strength, and an advance is expected, chiefly in greasy merinos. Home and foreign buyers are competing with great spirit. Up to date 53,600 bales have been catalogued, of which 56,800 bales have been sold to Home traders. April 9. Wool is hardening, especially for greasy merino. '
