On Saturday a railway surfaceman at Oamaru named Rusbatch, while handling a gun when out rabbit shooting, got his hand so badly injured by the accidental explosion of the gun that the hand had to be amputated. The man’s hat was blown to pieces by the discharge. While the young man was being brought to his home a , sister, hearing of the accident, ran JLout to meet him, when she accidentally fell into a deep ditch and broke her arm. The doctor’s services were resquired at the same time for brother .and sister.
