AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, March IS, Wheat is unchanged. March 19. Owing to the advance in the Victorian and South Australian wheat markets, business in those colonies has practically closed. New Zealand wheat ranges from 4s 9d to 5s 2d. Supplies of vegetables are falling off and prices are rising. Melbourne, March 19. Wheat is steady at 5s lOd. Adelaide, March 19. Wheat, 5s 3d; very firm. Sellers ask 5 s 6d, ENGLISH MARKETS. London, March 16. Tallow, medium, mutton 2ls 6d; ditto, beef, 21s; Henneasy’s first brandies, 80s in case; gen eva, 9s; Scotch whisky, best makers, 4s 3d per gallon. The wheat market is changing a little for the worse. Continental dull, American declining continuously; foreign business shows a decline in values. The arrivals of foreign wheat are small; there are no Australian cargoes off the coast or at ports of call. Lor new crops on the passage sellers ask 38s 6d; colonial beans average 38s.
AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS. Compared with last year the agricultural statistics show that there is an increase in the Waitaki County, in wheat of 36,487 bushels, a decrease of 46,940 bushels in oats, an increase of 51,415 bushels in barley, and a decrease of 5655!- tons in potatoes.
