FOOTBALL.
WAIHI CLUB. \ The annual general meeting of the Jf&nhers of this club was held in the 'Geraldine Literary Institute on Monday evening last. There was a large attendance, about forty members being present. Mr T. L. Hart occupied the chair. EEPOBT AND BALANCE-SHEET. The report showed that both the first and second fifteens had given a good account of themselves during the year. The former had won or drawn every match they had played with the exception of one, which bad been given against them on an appeal to the Rugby Union re a disputed try. The balance-sheet showed a balance to credit of about 80s. The report and balance-sheet were considered very satisfactory and were adopted. ELECTION OP OEPICBBS. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows • Patron, Ur R. Fish; president, Mr A. E. G. Rhodes, M.H.R.; vicepresidehts, Messrs E. W. Moore, J. Cunningham, R. H. Pearpoint, J. Young, W. Deßenzy, H. Smith, and R, Smith; captain, T. L. Hart (reelected) ; deputy-captain, J. A. Fitzgerald (re-elected) ; secretary at Winchester, A, Shallard; secretary at Geraldine, J. J. Hiskens; general committee, Messrs J. P. Ivalaugher, 1 H. W. Moore, F. Shallard, and H. N. Hiskens, with the officers ex officio ; selection and match committee, Messrs Fitzgerald, F. Shallard, and ■H. N, Hiskens; delegates to the Rugby Union, Messrs Hart, Fitzgerald, and C. Macintosh. MISCELLANEOUS. Several new members were elected. The annual subscription was fixed at 5s for all members above the age of 17, and 2s 6d for those under that age. It was decided to open with a practice match at Winchester on Saturday next, commencing at 3,30 p.m. The secretary was instructed to write to the Christchurch Football Club, and endeavor to arrange a match with them for April 20th, failing this match being arranged, to endeavor to get some other foreign match at an early date. Mr J. Cunningham handed the club the sum of 10s 6d to go towards the purchase of a trophy to be presented to the player, in either the first or second fifteen, who gains the most tries in foreign matches during the season.—The donation was received with applause. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated a most enthusiastic meeting. Committee Meeting. a meeting of the new committee held afterwards it was decided to get several requisites, including a couple of balls.
DARK TOWN CLUB. A meeting of the Darktown footballers was held last Tuesday evening in Temuka, for the purpose of discussing the advisability of forming a junior club. After considerable discussion it was decided to form a club, to bo called “The Temuka Darktown Eootball Club.” The annual subscription was fixed at ss, and the colors “ red and black.” The following officers were appointed for the ensuing season:— Captain, W. T. Dyson; vice-captain, T. Gaffaney; secretary, G. Clinch; committee, H. Lavery, W. Fitzgerald, D, Dunn, J. Findlay, and the officers ex officio. The meeting then terminated. TEMUKA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Temuka Football Club takes place in the Wallingford Hotel on Tuesday evening next, at which all members are requested to be present.
