The Hon. W. Reeves has consented to preside at a meeting at (Jhristchurch expressing sympathy with Mr Pirnell. Eight boxes containing 5G,000 salmon ova. brought by the Aorangi, have Arrived at Dunedin in fine condition. Tho B.s. Penguin, from the South, stranded on a sandbank about nioe .miles from Onehunga wharf on Sundaj morning, and up to Tuesday efforts to float her off were unsuccessful. Another animated meeting of the honorary medical staff at Dunedin was held on Monday morning. Resolutions were carried affirming the desirability of the reforms advocated by Dr Bachelor before the trustees; expressing confidence in the hospital trustees, and hoping that they would continue to work harmoniously with the staff in the improvement of the hospital, and finally regretting that Dr Batchdor should have taken the action he, did individually without consulting the staff.
