A son or reter Shiels, Millers JNat, was drowned in the Clutha river. He and two brothers were chasing rabbita when he fell into the river, and the swift current swept him into the centre of the river. The body has not been recoveredMr Sylvester Egan, a Wellington engineer, fhas invented machinery to drive small boats by hand. One man works the machinery.
