ENGLISH MARKETS. London, February 14. The shippers’ committee have nrged the brokers to reduce freights by 2s 6d. The latter will give their decision on the proposal in a fortnight. New Zealand mutton is unchanged. Australian mutton has advanced |d. A few carcases of the Selembria’s cargo of frozen mutton were found to be damaged. Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 41s 6d, New Zealand long-berried, ex store, 41s; both firmer. February 15. Australian wheat, ex warehouse, 41s 6d; New Zealand long-berried, ex store, 41s; both firmer. German beet sugar is 13s 9d; Java, 16s 6d; business is restricted, February 16, New Zealand hemp still continues to increase in value, and is now quoted at £4l 10s per ton. At the wool auctions yesterday 10,000 bales were sold, and to-day 11,000. Prices were good. There is a general rise of per lb.
