TEMUKA V. ZtfALANUIA. On Saturday afternoon a match between teams from the Zealandia (Timaru) and the Temuka Clubs was played on the ground of the latter. The visiting team arrived at about 2 o’clock, and play was commenced shortly after, the Timaru captain electing to put his opponents in first. Bryarg and Ogilvie were first at the wicket, opposed to the bowling of Macintosh and Swallow. Ogilvie put together 7, when he was neatly boWled by Swallow., Mendelson followed, but made rio stand. Cutten, his successor,

put together 9, when he was prettily caught by Mclntosh. Brynrs’ wicket fell to the same bowler after he had put together 15. The remainder of eleven were easily disposed of, McCaskill and Tarrant being the only ones to make a stand. The innings closed for 48. The visitors after having partaken of lunch 1 commenced their innings by sending Swallow and out. "The former wa? run out, and .Renton, who succeeded him, was clean boiled by Yelvin. Walmaley played carefully for 3, but succumbed to Yelvin, Williams in the meantime having been caught by Yelviti off his own bowling. Macintosh played freely for 17, when he’ was caught in slips by Mendelson, Burnip knocked together 13 without displaying much science, and the balance of the team fell comparatively easily. The innings closed for 49. Temuka’s second innings was a complete fiasco, none, with the exception of Yelvin and Ogilvie, making any stand. The total for the second innings was 19. When time was called the visitors had put together 19 for three wickets. The following are the scores Temuka.
