Albany, January 29. ' Further details of tha burning of the Mississippi steamer John Hanna, received per Liguria, show that the catastrophe wag tragic in the extreme. The vessel wis wrapped in a sheet of flame three minutes after the first outbreak. Many were scalded to death by the bursting of steam piyes. When the steamer rebounded from the sand bank on to which she was steered, a great deed of heroism wss performed by a deck-band named Giren. He sprang to the pilot house and stuck to the post till be had brought her back to the bank. By this time, however, he was imprisoned in the house, against which the flames were dashing in a wall of fire. Eventually Giren succeeded in reaching shore, but he was terribly burned and finally died in indescribable agony. Many of those who jumped overboard stuck fast in the mud, and as the vessel burned down to the water's edgb were slowly roasted to death in fall view of crowds assembled on shore.
