WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.

Dunedin Jan. 28. At the Wesleyan Conference this afternoon the lay delegates took their seats, and were heartily welcomed by the president, to whose words Mr Moxham (Wellington) suitably replied. Division or alteration of circuits was the principal business. Hoiensvilio and Wade were constituted separate home mission stations, and and Riverton was constituted a home mission station, a probationer to be appointed. A telegram was received from the New South Wales Conference, saying that they had accepted the Rev. R. Bavin, and had appointed him to a circuit. At the evening sitting the ordination service of T. J. Wallis took place. The Rev. J. Williams delivered the ordination charge, referring to the pride the veteran missionary, the Rev. J. Wallis, the grandfather of the candidate, would take in the event.

A cablegram was received from South Australia, ref using to accede to the request that another name might be substituted for that of the Kev. F. H. Siramonds. It was resolved that as a reasonable offer had been made and refused, word be sent to South Australia that Mr Simmonda was provided for on the station sheet here, and that the seretary wire to Victoria that the Rev. A. K. Edgar had been given an

appointment. Jan. 29. At the Conference on Tuesday matters of very little interest were dealt with. It was decidedjVthat Rakaia, Methven, and Lauriston, be separated from the Ashburton circuit, to constitute with other places the Methven home mission station ; that Tauranga and Gisborne take 3 a married minister next ye»r, and that Ashbbrton and Gore be relieved of their obligation to do so; that the Te Amawatu circuit continue (o take a married minister.
