The statement of assets and liabilities in the estate of Kinross, (of Napier), filed with the Assignee, shows secured creditors £131,230 ; unsecured £45,589; total £176,819.. 'Assets — securities valued at £172,454, book-debts, £16,150 (estimated io produce £5000), Other properties, stock in store, andjsundries bring up an estimated surplus of £7191. An unusual amount of interest was taken in the meeting of parishioners of St. John, Roslyn, Dunedin, on Friday evening. There was a pretty warm discussion, and the election of parish churchwarden and vestry was an unqualified victory for the anti-ritualistic party, whose nominees were all elected. A lode of manganese, said to be the purest in the world, at the mouth of the faieii River, Otago, is to bo worked on an extensive scale. Quantities of tbo stuff were sent Home ou two occasions, and advices show that there is a large margin for profit. Very little shipping will bo necessary,.
