The ship Jessie Headman, Captain Gibson, arrived at Wellington on January Ist from Liverpool, which port she left on the 4th September. The weather was magnificent for Tuesday’s holiday at Dunedin. Houston was second, and McCabe, third. Wintbop won the three mile walking race, and Thomson the mile race in the most hollow fashion. Miss Embree, of Paris, Ky., has filed proceediogs for the recovery of 30,000 dollars from O. Y. Higgins, a youth who is attending school in New York, as damages for blighted affections.
