Pisoatobiali. —Mr H. Williams got a splendid basket of eight fish weighing thirtyone lb lost Saturday evening. Tbe largest weighed six lb and the smallest two-ind-a-half lb.

Chuboh Paeade.—A church parade of the Geraldine Rifles was held on Sunday last when about thirty of the corps including the band and all the officer;, marched to the Episcopalian church, where service was condueled by Mr H, W. There will be no goods traffio on Ist January. Accident. —Mr Q-. H. Mogridge, of Temuka, unfortunately met with a painful accident on Monday last. He was tying up a horse harnessed to a trap to a posh of the verandah in front of his premises, when the animal moved forward and jammed Mr Mogridge'a arm . between the post and the shaft of the vehicle. Mr 0. Oliver observed the accident, and, backing the horss, released Mr Mogridge, whose arnicas found to be much bruised. It was attended to by Dr Hayes, and by latest accounts will soon be well again.

The Babbit Commission.—The Babbit Commissioners have adopted their report for presentation to Parliament. The report deals extensively with the various experiments, and bo far as the experiments have gone they tend to prove that M. Pasteur's remedy is totally inefficacious. The Commiseiooers report thifc the enquiries at Tintinallogy are of no scientiHo value whatever. The disease discovered by Professor Watson is olso dealt with. With regard to the bladder worm, it is said that it cleared the Wairarapa district of the rabbits, and tho Commissioners recommend that further investigation be made into this disease.

Masosio. —A meeting of the members of the Southern Star Lodge No. 619, S.C., was held on Thursday evening last. There was a good attendance.
