THE PANAMA CANAL.
Paris, December 19. The Cabinet have decided to make another attempt to provide assistance to the'Panama Canal, Thousands of people have unlertaken to subscribe to future canal bonds. Many of the present holders of scrip bave agreed to concede their priority interest to the capltalborrowed in future. Several persons who bave condemned De Lesseps's proposals have been assaulted by his supporters. Washington, December 20.
A motion has been proposed in Congress, requesting; the President to intimate to the European Powers that America will not allow foreign control in the construction of the Panama Canal.
