This programme was carried out to the letter, and the various performers, though almost all of them were children of tender yearo, displayed remarkable intelligence and capacity. It was not one, or two, or three of them who acquitted themselves creditatly, but the whole of them performed their duties with remarkable ability, and the entertainment was really enjoyable. It would therefore not be fair to single out a few for specinl praise, aa it would do injustice to the others. We may Bay, however, that the quartette, ' Whispering Hope " was the gem of the evening. It is not at the best of times very easy to train adults to sing quartettes well, and those who know anything about it must realise the difficulty of getting young girls to do it properly, The four young ladies who sang at Kerry town acquitted themselves with great credit, and the piece was rendered delightfully. In addition to this, their playing on the piano was excellent. A couple of years ago not one of them could play the piano sufficiently well to accompany the singing, but on this occasion about 12 of them showed good musical capacity, and not only were able to accompany the singing, bat played solos and duets splendidly. The music and singing showed an extraordinary improvement on former years, and denoted the progress the children have been making under the careful tnlilion of the Sisters of St, Joseph. The dramas were also acted with a vtrvt and epirit that would do credit not oniy to adults, but to professionals, while their movements and aotions were easy and graceful. On the whole the entertainment was the bast hitherto held there, and we heartily congratulate both teachers and pupils on their great success. '■' ■.■
