An elderly man, named Kinnearney, was found dead at Northcote, Auckland, on Monday, in a house where he hud been living by himself. William Everett, ah old Opaki settler, bed a narrow escape on Tuesday at a railnay crossing. The cow-catcher of n passiDg train lifted bis horse out of the buggy. The animal was fatally injured. The driver escaped with a shaking. At the Dunedin City Police Court, yesterday, George Griffiths, skating rink manager, charged with the theft of a diamond ring, wbh remanded. Wm. Roach was committed for trial for bestiality.
