PARNELL COMMISSION.

London, December 13

At tho Times-Parnell Commission yesterday, Sir James tie President of the, Commission,, protested against the protracted nature of the proceedings, which.at the present rate threaten to extend to three' years. Sir Charles Russell, counsel for the Irish members, agreed, with; the remarks of tbei President, and threw down a ohallengp to the other side to show, at onne that his clients were connected with qutrage. The United Ireland has published an article couched in outrageous language, | grossly insulting the commission. Sir James Hannen is indignant;, and has ordered the arrest, of the editor of the paper, Mr William O'Brien, M.P. The Hon. G.Broderick, Warden of Merton College, Oxford, has been ordered to attend before the commission for comparing Michabl Davittj to the Whitechapel murderer.

I The Parnell Commission have adjourned till January 15>b. At to-day's proceedings, a member of the League, who was examined ion the 4th inst. as to the doings of the inn-r circle, was subjected to severe, crossexamination by Sir Charles, Russell, counsel for the Parnellites. A letter was produced written by witness to his brothers stating that be thought he could make a few pounds, bujt not unless he was prepared to swear queer; things. His brothers wired exhorting the, witness to contradict his statements made at the previous examination, and offered to pay costs, but the witness adhered! to hiß evidence, In order to fall in with the wishes of the commission not .to prolong■ the inquiry. Sir Charles Russell, counsel for the Irish members, has decided* not to cross-examine witnesses at.presept.
