A child named Mary Arm -Agnes Coffee was burnt to death at Alicetown, Wellington, through ber clothes catching fire while playing near a rubbish heap which wrs on fire. George Williams, a well-known lightweight jockey, died at the Wellington hospital on Friday rnurning from dropsy. Mr J. H. Whittoo, a well-knowu resident at Alicetown, Wellington, died very suddenly on Thursday night. A number of friends hud been on a visit to bis house. Oo their depanure to catcb the train it was discovered that one of iheir tickets had been left behind. Mr Wbitton rushed off to the station in great haste. He reached the station before the traio left, but the exertion proved too much for hits.. He was afterwards, ch'beovered m •• hinting condition, aid i|| a few moments expired.
