AQUATICS.
Brisbane, December 6. The aquatic carnival began yesterday. The first heat resulted as follows ; Matheson 1, Stansbury 2, McLear 3, and Wain 4. The second heat was then rowed, with the following result;—Searle I, Kemp 2, Neilson 3, Beach 4, All the competitors belong to Sydney except McLear and Wain, who are Brisbane men.. To-day the first two in each heat row the final heat, Today the second beat was rowed, the competitors being H. McLear, Robert Wain, Neilson, and Beach, who were yesterday the last two, respectively, in each of the beats rowed. The heat to-day resulted as follows -Beach, Neilson, McLear, and Wain. The last two are therefore knocked out of the competition, and to-morrow Searle, Kemp, Matheson, Stansbury, Beach, and Neilson, will continue the competition, rowing as before in beats.
